About this deal

Rooted in the commandments of Allah, the Exalted, and the Sunnah, and enhanced by insights and examples from both Muslims and non-Muslims throughout the centuries, this new and revised 4th Edition is an absolute must-read for everyone. It exposes to the modern reader how Islam teaches us to deal with the tests and tribulations of this world. No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees – before We bring it into existence. It does not have any particular structure (it was written first in Arabic, so I read the English translation), which bothered my perfectionist self a bit, but it was full of nice little reminders that life isn’t actually so bad.

When the fire was set for him, Prophet Abraham (pbuh) did not feel its heat because of the help he received from his Lord. Live for today; during this day, you should pray with a wakeful heart, recite the Qur’an with understanding, and remember Allah (the Exalted) with sincerity.I gleaned whatever I found to be pertinent to the topic of the book from these sources: Verses of the Qur’an, sayings of the Prophet (bpuh), stories, parables, poems, and sayings of the wise. This is an amazing book, it utilises the ayahs of the Quran to help your understanding of how much Allah loves you. Indeed it says this as well: Live life as it should be lived – wholesomely, happily, and productively.

He has given you so much trees, fruits, nuts, birds, oxygen, water, and much more, and yet you do not see anything. What I found the most helpful of the advice was how to live day by day, sometimes we are consumed with thoughts of the future. You will never completely feel at ease until you firmly believe that Allah has already preordained all matters. From Adam (‘alayhi as-salâm – peace be upon him) to the last baby born, no two people are exactly the same in appearance. This is not to say that you should refrain from performing acts of kindness towards others; the point is that you should be mentally prepared for ingratitude. Give to the needy, defend the oppressed, help those in distress, and visit the sick; you will find that happiness surrounds you from all directions. During the period of waiting between drops, many of them lose their minds and are driven to insanity. Rejoice in your knowledge that you will be rewarded by the One Who has unlimited treasures at His disposal.

You will always have to face criticism, which in its onslaught is like an interminable war; it shows no sign of ending.I strongly believe that whatever your problem, however deep your sadness and despair is there is something in this book that applies to you. Our varied colours, languages, talents, and abilities are signs from our Creator, the Almighty, All-Glorious, so do not disbelieve in them. Nice short chapters so you can read it without feeling bogged down, which is useful when depressed and don't want to read lots. To be engrossed in expectations about the future is looked down upon in our religion since it leads to our having a long-term attachment to this world – this is an attachment that the good believer shuns. I think if anyone is a revert or someone who just wants some spiritual sense-making assurance or something, this one would be a great one.
