He went to art school in Liverpool and has since worked as a typographer for design and advertising agencies. Don't miss this terrific tale from the West End producers of David Walliams' Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy, which were both nominated for an Olivier Award! If people are getting scared by a flipping book, then they're obviously soft and need to get a grip. The characters are well-drawn, in particular hero Alife, who is also a carer for his disabled dad, and the terrible villain really is truly demonic. Also at the point when the witch removed her too white to be real teeth to reveal hideous fangs which had blood. The latest jaw-achingly funny, number-one bestselling novel from David Walliams – now out in paperback. His books have now been translated into 40+ languages, and also include picture books illustrated by Tony Ross.

This was SUCH a delightful book and SO enjoyable to read, I was SO sad to reach the end of it - I just wanted it to go on and on and on! Children would put a tooth under their pillow for the tooth fairy, but in the morning they would wake up to find… a dead slug; a live spider; hundreds of earwigs creeping and crawling beneath their pillow. There's also surprises; I thought for a long time that the social worker was in league with Miss Root!

This is one of the VERY, VERY ,VERY best and FUNNIEST books I've ever read, and I've been reading a number of books for young adults and children lately, and as I haven't been well, this has been more than a real TONIC for me! David began his publishing career at HarperCollins in early 2008 with his debut novel, The Boy in the Dress, followed by Mr Stink in 2009, Billionaire Boy in 2010 and Gangsta Granny in 2011. Initially I had bought a few of the David Walliams books for my son as was recommended in the school read list. He wears uniforms with holes and he is not exactly Mr Popular in school, and understandably, he has a morbid fear of dentists arising from a traumatic experience when he was six.
