About this deal

The 1992 and 1999 editions released in Australia and New Zealand (and some other territories in that area) had a modified track listing (see below) to include three local hits, replacing three other songs on the international edition. ABBA reminds me of some outside artists who make up their own world and there is our world and then there's ABBA's world. Despite the disappointment with the 'new' song, I was extremely happy to finally have "Cassandra" and "Lovelight" on CD. Non ABBA Gold songs includes Ring Ring, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, Eagle, Summer Night City, The Visitors, The Day Before You Came plus the rest of the album tracks and non album B-Sides such as Happy Hawaii, Lovelight, Elaine and Should I Laugh Or Cry.

The group also enjoyed significant success in Latin America, and recorded a collection of their hit songs in Spanish. So, just because ABBA's Budget Albums were not allowed into the Main Chart, it does not mean that they were not selling. ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 at The Dome in Brighton, UK, giving Sweden its first triumph in the contest. what a shame they decline to be reunited at least for a live, for one single night to show the world "we are still there ". Having said that, earlier versions are now secondhand therefore it goes without saying that you should look for as near as 'mint' as possible. The genius of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' music and words is that its music for the every person, but to acknowledge such romantic dreams and failure turns it into an operatic theater piece of sorts.

With the increase of their popularity, their personal lives suffered which eventually resulted in the collapse of both marriages. I would recommend it as another good choice of Abba songs, I bought this CD as members of my family had recently watched Mama Mia the movie and one of my daughters liked a few songs that were not on Abba gold V(1)such as "I do, I do " and " Last Summer " and they were on Abba Gold Vol(2). As these licences were renewed every three years, between 1989 (when PolyGram acquired Polar) and 1992 all of these licences had expired. The original CD also included an unsatisfactory edit of ‘The Visitors’, from a 1982 US promotional single, about a minute and a half shorter than the full album version.Listening to this compilation, you might be hit with the realization that you were never really getting the full story - that's certainly how it felt for me, anyway. If you we’re stranded on a desert island and you only had to choose to listen either option for the rest of your life but not the other one at all, which would you choose?
